Maharaja Tej Singh (late).

 

Born 17 March 1911.

 

The administration of the state was

taken over by the Government of India and the Maharaja was confined to Delhi on 07 February 1948, on the grounds that he was involved in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.

 

He along with some other princely states formed the United State of Matsya on 28 February 1948. Later he was involved in the formation of Greater Rajasthan on 10 March 1949.

 

Married in 1931 Maharani Chand Kunwar (daughter of Maharaj Akhai Singh of Raoti). She passed away in 1998.

Prince (yuvraj) Pratap Singh (late).

 

Born 17 June 1938 at Alwar.

 

He died on 27 March 1976 under mysterious circumstances while under detention by tax officials during emergency rule of former prime minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

 

Married 26 April 1962, Princess Mahendra Kumari, (daughter of Maharao Bahadur Singh of Bundi). She passed away on 27 June 2002.

                                   Educated at Mayo College (Ajmer, India).

 

                                   Succeeded on 26 February 2009 on the death of

                                   his grand father Maharaja Tej Singh on 23

                                   February 2009

 

Politics: Elected to legislative assembly (state parliament of Rajasthan, Western part of India) in 1998. Elected to Lok Sabha (lower house of Indian parliament) in 2009.

 

Married 14 February 1994, Princess  Ambika Devi (daughter of Raja Brijendra Singh, of Dada Siba (north India).

Prince Yashwant Singh.

 

Born 19 September 1939 at Alwar.

 

Sports: He was national veterans tennis

doubles champion 4 times.

He is also president of International Bicycle Polo Federation since 1996. Also involved with  Asian & Indian Cycle Polo Federations.

Member of the Indian olympic association & Arjuna awardees association.

 

Married Rani Brinda Kumari (daughter of Maharaja Bahadursinh of Palitana).

Born 03 March 1959 at New Delhi.

 

Educated at St Stephen's College

(Delhi India), he has a degree in Arts.

 

Sports: He was national junior squash champion in 1977 and thereafter national team coach from 1994 to1998.

He is also accredited coach & international referee with World Squash Federation.

 

Married 05 November 1987 Princess Neena Kumari.

Princess Bhuwaneswari Kumari.

 

Nickname: Princess Candy.

 

Born 01 September 1960 at Delhi.

 

Educated at Delhi University, she has a graduate degree in Arts.

 

Sports: She hold the rocord of winning the women's national squash champion from 1977 to 1992 (16 years in a row). She also won the  Kenyan Open in 1988 & 1989.

 

She has won the following awards:

1983: Delhi Sports Journalist Association Award.

1984 :Rajasthan Sports Award Council.

1990: Maharana Mewar Foundation "Aravali Award".

1991: K. K.  Birla Foundation Award.

1992: Bombay Sports Journalist Association Award.

1993: Rajasthan Olympic Association Award.

2001: Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh Award.

1982: Arjuna Award (Indian award for sports).

2001: Padma Shri (an Indian civilian honour).

Princess Sohini Kumari.

 

Born 05 January 1968 at New Delhi.

 

Sports: She was national tennis

champion (doubles) 6 years in a row.

Represented India in Federation Cup (women’s Davis cup) in 1991,1992 & 1995 and in squash in Asian games in 1998 at Bangkok. Won gold medal at south Asian federation (SAF) games in 1991.

Received the Aravali Award in 1992.

She holds the record for representing India in two sports - tennis & squash.

She is a professional tennis coach.
